Introduction
Avian August is a daily drawing prompt list organized by Michelle Wozniak (@thecookiedove)
During the month of August, artists of all concentrations depict a different species of bird every day for a month.
I've always taken great joy in the markings and patterns of not just birds, but animals in general. To be able to depict such a wide variety of critter with every color available to me as a digital artist is part of what makes this such a fun project for me to participate in!

Avian August (2023)
This was my second year participating in Avian August; I had a year's worth of birdwatching experience by this point, so it was super fun doing research and realizing that birds, regardless of continent, really are just birds with the usual bird behaviors.
This year's edition focused on endangered and vulnerable birds, from California condors to the kākāpō!

Avian August (2022)
I participated in the 2022 edition as my first project out of school, as I had also started birdwatching as a hobby, so I got the chance to draw some sweet birds while getting to learn about new species. Win-win scenario!
Additional barn owl I did for day 15 because I just think they're neat!
